We're going to the zoo!

Getting ready for the Seabury Auction!

Learning about Arctic animals at the zoo.

A beautiful January day at the zoo.
It seems like every week is busier than the last!  This week we worked on measuring, learning about polar bears and penguins, swimming and a field trip to the zoo!  We even squeezed in a visit to the computer lab.  The children are thriving and learning every minute of our day.  There is nothing better than a room full of happy children!

Working together!

Learning sign language

Checking out the table full of ice

snow creatures!
This week the Ladybugs have been working hard on all things winter.  We've written poems on mittens, each child wrote and illustrated a book, we practiced the letter "l" and worked on our reading.  We worked on writing our numbers, grouping and sorting objects and recognizing numbers.  We met with the Superstars and Shark classes to explore the concept of communication.  It turns out that communication is more than talking or using the computer.  It includes gestures, sign language, tail wagging and many other things that we initially hadn't considered.  Learning together is so much fun!

Math and Swimming

While swimming is the big thing this week, we are still doing our regular work.  Today it was using individual number lines to solve addition problems.
