Field Day

you just don't know how much fun a parachute is!

and the scooter board obstacle course was good, too!
It's been a terrific week!  We spent some time with our graduating 8th graders, welcomed a new baby to our Seabury family, performed in the music program and had field day.  The music program was wonderful and the children were adorable!  Field day was lots of fun and the sun even came out!  We're in the home stretch of the school year now, only 2 weeks left.

Grandparents and Special Friends

Our oldest Lower School kids are terrific cheerleaders for our youngest kids!

Listening to the books we wrote.

So many smiling faces and proud children!  The Ladybugs have been hard at work the past couple of weeks putting their finishing touches on their hardcover books.  For some reason a hardcover book seems more important than the soft cover books we have written in the past.  The kids planned, illustrated and dictated stories about mermaids, dungeons, carnivals, friends and dogs.  It was hard work!

Fun at the beach!

You wouldn't believe the things we found!

A patient mom encouraging exploration

Mixing age groups-a winning combination for both classes.

A perfect day for exploring with Dad.

Education Seabury style-parent, child, teacher (and friends!)

This week we visited Dash Point State Park for a minus tide.  We have been learning about ocean and tide pool inhabitants and the minus tide gave us the perfect opportunity to see some of these creatures for ourselves.  We got a beautiful afternoon for exploring.  Four helpful parents and the Barracuda class joined us and away we went on the Seabury bus.  The -3 tide exposed all kinds of shells, gooey ducks, crabs, starfish, sea cucumbers and barnacles.  We couldn't believe how lucky we were!  It was a wonderful afternoon learning together on the beach!
