Fingerpainting, it's fun and it's an opportunity to practice writing our name!

In the Ladybug class we use a variety of methods to work on different things.  For example, we are working on writing the children's names.  We use markers and crayons and fingerprint to practice our names.  We use wipe off dotted names to refine our letter formation.  The kids are having fun and the practice is painless!  The counting caterpillar on the wall is helping with our counting by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's.  The calendar uses a different pattern every month to help us recognize patterns that are helpful in math.  The job chart is helping them read their classmates names and instills a sense of responsibility in the classroom.  Every activity and piece of equipment has a purpose.  Sometimes the purpose is social development, other times we are working on a specific math or language arts skill.  Our literature circles are intended to work on our inquiry skills.  We are actively encouraging the children to ask questions and pursue the answers.  We work together to try new things and working with the older children encourage the younger ones to reach a little further and think outside the box.  Every day is an adventure in the Ladybugs and we're glad you're a part of it.
